PRODUCTS - GRANDFATHER CLOCKS
1. How big are your grandfather clocks ?
Our Grandfather Cuckoo Clock is one of a kind - 7' (84") tall and weighs 154 pounds. The Franklin is 75" tall, 19 1/2" wide and 9" deep. The Madison is 76 1/4" tall, 19 1/2" wide and 8 3/4" deep. The Madrid is 76 1/2" tall, 17" wide and 8 1/4" deep.
2. What are your grandfather clocks made of ?
Our cherry finish grandfather clocks are made of linden wood and our oak finish grandfather clocks are made of ash.
3. What kind of movements do your grandfather clocks have ?
Our grandfather clocks have dependable 31 day, key wind movements. You wind them once per month. The movement is driven by springs you wind instead of the weights. The chimes are created by two hammers hitting two chime pin rods. The pendulums swing side to side, keeping the clocks running.
4. Where do your grandfather clocks come from ?
Our grandfather clocks come from Hazel Enterprises in Hazel, KY. They deal in high volume and low profit margins, thus allowing us to offer amazingly low prices
5. How long will it take for me to receive my grandfather clock ?
Our grandfather clocks are shipped out either the same day of the order or the next business day. That means delivery to you in the United States will take 1 to 5 days. Delivery is by UPS.
6. Is there assembly once I receive my grandfather clock ?
Yes, but it should only take less than 30 minutes. The only tool necessary is a phillips screwdriver to inset 8 machine screws. Excellent instructions are included, and you can call us if you have any questions. (see our “contact us” page) There is nothing technical about the assembly and set up.
7. What if my grandfather clock doesn't work after I receive it ?
Our grandfather clocks are regulated at the factory. A “trouble shooting guide” is included. The most common resolution is to allow your grandfather clock to run 24 hours without the pendulum. You also can simply call us for assistance
8. What kind of cuckoo clocks do you sell ?
There are two main styles of cuckoo clocks, traditional and chalet. We offer both, many that are musical. Traditional clocks feature hand carved animals, leaves and hunting scenes. Chalet clocks are shaped like homes in the Black Forest region of Germany. Each is hand crafted which make them unique and desirable. Each cuckoo clock strikes the ½ hour and the hour. No two clocks are exactly the same.
9. What is the difference in "movements" with cuckoo clocks ?
One day movement cuckoo clocks run about 30 hours. The 8 day movement cuckoo clocks need to be wound only once a week. They have larger pine cone, iron weights. If there is a third weight, it will drive the musical movement. A cuckoo clock with three weights plays music and sometimes features moving figurines as well.
10. Where do your cuckoo clocks come from ?
Our cuckoo clocks come from German manufacturers who have displayed outstanding quality, originality and attention to detail. They are all imported from the Black Forest of Germany.
11. Who is our supplier ?
Our supplier is a wholesale only company that serves independent retail stores, clock shops, large department stores and catalog companies. Since 1988, they have been the largest importer and distributor of German Cuckoo clocks in North America.
